Misunderstood Whiskey sent me a bottle recently for their #NationalCancerPreventionMonth promotion of every bottle sold will have $1 donated to the @jdjfoundation to help families battling cancer. I never heard of ginger spiced whiskey before out of all the different whiskies on the market. Needless to say I was intrigued…
The nose of the whiskey was very faint, you can smell the ginger but not like a dedicated ginger syrup. It was inviting but didn’t pick much else up mainly due to the lower alcohol content.
Taste wise was pleasant to say the least, it remains a perfect amount of ginger in my opinion where it shines but doesn’t just taste like you are eating a piece of ginger. On its own I got the same result as just ginger and basic vanilla notes you get with a typical whiskey.
But then again this wasn’t meant to be a sipping whiskey, it’s for mixing and making some Hot Toddy’s! For mixing it’s great and stands out in all the right ways, I’ll be keeping a bottle on my shelf to experiment more cocktails with.
